CEM – Competence in harbor construction, maritime works and structural engineering

Poland's biggest deep-sea harbor in Gdansk; construction of the new Kaiserschleuse Lock in Bremerhaven; offshore facilities in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea: For demanding projects in the field of marine works, the business unit Civil Engineering and Marine Works (CEM) will be on board. As the competence center for harbor construction and marine works, CEM accomplishes successful project implementation.

CEM also is a strong partner for large-scale infrastructure projects. The new section of Hamburg's U4 metro line and the construction of the elevated highway A 281 in Bremen are just two of the numerous examples that illustrate CEM's method of matching economic requirements with innovation and reliable construction processes.

Our fields of activity

Off the coastline of Gdansk, the pier reaches some 800 meters out into the sea. In Bremerhaven, the construction team faces the challenge of erecting the new Kaiserschleuse Lock at precisely the same location as the old structure.

In both cases, precision and experience in handling the elements are key. Providing both, CEM is a coveted partner for a large variety of projects, also in the field of structural engineering. Its range of services includes not only bridges, tunnels and shipyards, but also major projects in the fields of harbor and maritime construction.

Our service spectrum:

  • Turnkey harbors
  • Locks/sluices, ship lifting structures
  • Flood protection walls, barriers/dams
  • Underwater foundations
  • Immersed tunnels
  • Offshore wind farms, construction and maintenance
  • Wave and tidal power plants
  • Bridges
  • Tunnels
  • Shipyards
