Competencies

Our competencies cover three fields of activity:

Bridge Nasenbachtal

Bridges

In addition to our specialization in the construction of wastewater treatment plants, we are HOCHTIEF Construction's competence center for bridge building. In their work, our experts focus on building structures that are characterized by challenging statics as well as complex technical and structural calculations.

One of the many projects illustrating our project execution competence is the more than 520-meter-long and approximately 30-meter-wide bridge crossing the Schafstalgrund Valley in the Thuringian Forest. We fabricated and launched the superstructure with a swivellable incremental launching facility rotatable around the longitudinal axis coupled with transverse sliding pushers and incremental launching bearings.

Another project in which the client places his full trust in our engineers and experts is the Saale-Elster valley bridge which forms part of the ICE high-speed rail link between Erfurt and Leipzig. Approximately nine kilometers long in total, the bridge is Germany's longest structure of this type. As access to the nature reserve under the bridge is only partially possible, the incremental "over the top" method is used to build the bridge. We are therefore using a special method of construction whereby piers, including deep foundations, are made from the front of a formwork carriage that is also used for fabricating the superstructure.
