World Record at the Gotthard Tunnel
A world record was set at the Gotthard Tunnel. Since the main breakthrough was achieved on October 15, the railroad
tunnel is the longest in the world. After the extension phase is completed, the first trains are expected to pass
through the Swiss Alps on this fast rail line in 2017. HOCHTIEF Construction has been participating in this major
project since 2004 and is contributing extensively to the route.
